About Lauren

Lauren is now a senior at Azusa Pacific University where she is earning her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. She is currently preparing for the title of Miss California 2012, where she will be competing with fifty seven of the most intelligent, beautiful, talented, and genuinely kind women from across the state. Growing up, she has only had one passion; performing. This past Fall, she transferred from Citrus College where she had amazing performance opportunities placed before her. Including, The Wicked Witch of the West in a $60,000 production of The Wizard of Oz, Miss Sandra in All Shook Up, and Evelyn Nesbit in a $80,000 production of Ragtime: The Musical.
With the encouragement of friends, Lauren began competing in the Miss America Organization for the two characteristics that set it apart from most pageants, and that is, the talent portion of the competition and the scholarship money. Thanks to the Miss America Organization Lauren has earned over $7,200 in scholarship for her college education since 2010.
Lauren has held three local titles within the organization: Miss Covina 2010, Miss Southern California Regional 2011, and she currently holds the title of Miss Gavilan Hills 2012. While competing in Miss California last year as Miss Southern California Regional, Lauren was selected as a top 12 semi-finalist as well as a winner of the preliminary Physical Fitness and Evening Gown awards.

Lauren was recently cast in two regional productions of "Hairspray". The first, being last summer, where she had the wonderful opportunity of working with Moonlight Stage Productions, while living in beautiful Vista California (10 minuets inland of Oceanside) for about two months. She played the evil role of Amber Von Tussle in "Hairspray" at the breathtaking Moonlight Amphitheatre (pictured below). About a month later, in the Fall of 2011 Lauren was cast in "Hairspray" for the second time at Musical Theatre West, playing the same role. She was cast along well-known Broadway performers and surrounded by eminence talent and an incredible amount of humbleness.
The incredible stage, Moonlight Ampitheatre.
