Yet another quality that makes Miss America so special is that they are partnered with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN). There is no entry fee to compete in the Miss America Organization, just a requirement to raise a certain amount of money for CMN at a local, state, and national level. Such a great cause!!! I only have $100 left to raise before I compete in Miss California in just a few short weeks, if you feel the urge, every penny counts :).

 Where is Gavilan Hills?

Gavilan Hills is in northern California about 40 minuets inland of Monterrey and right next door to the small town of Gilroy. The title I hold is an open, and if you read the tab “Miss America Organization” you know exactly what that is ;).
There were two titles given away within the pageant, Miss Gavilan Hills, of course, and Miss Northern California Regional. Each title is equal, so myself and my sister title holder Courtney Trouten (Miss Northern California Regional) are now both preparing and competing in Miss California 2012 June 30^th! Courtney will also be my roomie for the week of competition, so excited! :)
